Hoy en nuestra sección de Mamá va al Cine, les compartiré el final de una historia, que a muchas personas como yo nos hizo reir, llorar y descubrir que la magia es un cofre interminable por descubrir. El pasado 15 de julio se estrenó en las salas de cines de los Estados Unidos la cinta, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 2”, la cual significa el final de la serie de las películas del mago consentido de chicos y grandes de todo el mundo.
Así que a continuación, les presentamos la colaboración especial de nuestra amiga Maggie Castillo, una fiel admiradora de Harry Potter, quien ha seguido los pasos de este mago, a través de sus libros y películas y nos relata como vivió la experiencia al ver el final de la cinta en su noche de estreno.
Asimismo, por primera vez, les presentamos un artículo bilingüe, o sea en inglés y español. Esperamos los disfruten.

Me convertí en admiradora en el 2011. Un colega (abogado) me recomendó el libro y me lo prestó (La Piedra del Mago- pero prefiero el titulo en ingles “La Piedra Filosofal” porque estudie Filosofia en la universidad!), Esto sucedió cuando trabajé en la oficina de la Fiscalía en el estado de Arkansas. Me enganché y desde entonces, he sido una fanática de “hueso colorado”.
Cuando salió el último libro a la venta al publico en el 2007, acampé toda la noche para comprarlo y lo recogí muy temprano al día siguiente para que lo pudiera leer todo el fin de semana. No vi la televisión ni escuché el radio porque no quería que alguien me dijera si Harry se había muerto al final. ¡Estaba muy contenta que no se murió!
El viernes 15 de Julio del 2011 llegó el fin de viaje con el “niño que sobrevivió”. Estaba triste y al mismo tiempo ansiosa de ver la última de las películas de Harry Potter. Fui cautivada por esta serie de películas cuando empecé a leer sobre un niño en un closet que podía hablar con víboras.- Harry era un “parselmouth”.
Arribé a los cines del “Block” en Orange, CA, en donde había comprado mi boleto en la pre-venta para la función de la media noche. Mientras me acercaba al teatro, noté que había cuatro diferentes filas. Posteriormente, recogí mi boleto y fue escoltada al interior del cine ya que había comprado el boleto para la función en tercera dimensión (3D). Llegué temprano y cuando ingresé a la sala parecía que había una gran fiesta en pleno apogeo. Las personas estaban jugando con pelotas de playa y estaba muy ocupados discutiendo las posibles escenas o desenlaces. El reloj marcó la media noche y la función inició con un gran aplauso y mucha emoción por parte de los asistentes.
¿Qué puedo decir? estuvo maravillosa. Celebré cuando encontraron los distintos “horcruxes” y lloré cuando vi a Harry caminar en el bosque con sus padres y su padrino Sirius. Los efectos especiales estuvieron mágicos y espectaculares. Todo sucedió exactamente como me había imaginado las escenas en mi cabeza cuando leí de manera maratónica “Deathly Hollows”, cuando el libro fue vendido al publico. La caracterización del enfermizo y despiadado Voldermort ya derrotado estuvo increíble. Es imposible el que sea tan maléfico y no pagar un precio alto con su alma.
Al final de la película todos aplaudimos y celebramos lo único que deseaba es que no llegara a su final. He sido una fanática por diez años y estoy triste que ha llegado al fin. Lo que me gusta sobre Harry Potter es que se trata sobre creer en ti mismo, el no rendirte y el hacer lo correcto, aunque sea difícil hacerlo y sobre todo es sobre el AMOR a la familia, amigos y aquellos que necesitan tu ayuda y protección.

Let’s start over… in English
I became a fan in 2001. A colleague of mine recommended the book and loaned it to me (The Sorcerer’s Stone- but I prefer the English title “The Philosopher’s Stone” since I was a philosophy major in college!), this happened when I worked at the Arkansas Attorney General’s office. I was hooked then and I have been a die hard fan ever since. When the last book was released in 2007 I camped out for the book and I picked up the book in the early hours so I could read it all weekend. I did not watch tv or listened to the radio for I did not want somone to tell me whether Harry died at the end. I was very relieved when he did not die!
On Friday July 15, 2011 came the end of my journey with the “boy who lived”… I was sad and at the same time anxious to see the last of the Harry Potter films. I got hooked when I began reading about a boy in the broom closet who could talk to snakes- Harry is a parselmouth!
I arrived at the Block in Orange, CA where I had pre-purchased my ticket for the midnight show. As I got closer to the theatre I noticed there were four different lines. I retrieved my ticket and was ushered inside for I had purchased the 3D movie ticket. I was early and once inside the theatre it looked like a big party was in full swing. People were playing with beach balls and busy discussing different possible scenes. The clock struck midnight and the show began with great applause and excitement.
What can I say except that it was wonderful! I cheered when they found the various horcruxes and cried when I saw Harry walk in the forest with his parents and his godfather Sirius. The special effects were magical and spectacular. It was exactly as I imagined the scenes in my head when I did the marathon reading of the Deathly Hallows when the book was released. The portrail of the sickly and pitiful looking Voldermort once defeated was great. It is impossible to be that evil and not pay a big price with your soul.
At the end of the movie we all clapped and cheered- the only thing I wished for was for it not to end! I have been a fan for 10 years and I am sad that it has come to an end. What I like about Harry Potter is that it’s about believing in yourself, not giving up and doing the right thing even if difficult to do and above all of that its about LOVE for family, friends and those who need your help and protection.

En lo personal, esta serie de películas tiene un significado muy especial, ya que me deje atrapar por su magia y encanto y ahora como Mamá, quiero que cuando mi hijo crezca, conozca la historia de Harry. Ya le tengo guardados los libros y su “outfit” con lentes, varita, capa y bufanda.

Que buen relato. Yo NUNCA he visto una pelicula de Harry Potter!! Yo se, es increible, pero tampoco he leido un libro de la saga. Me encanta ver como disfrutaste la pelicula a pesar del gentio que habia y que ya tienes reservado el outfit de Harry para tu nino. Saludos!
